Abstract

1,085,237. Valves. WILLIAMS & JAMES (ENGINEERS) Ltd. Sept. 30, 1964 [Oct. 5, 1963], No. 39306/63. Heading F2V. A valve comprises an outer rotary valve member 16, Fig. 1 (not shown), and an inner axially displaceable valve member 19 which are separately operable to control two separate valve outlets 8 and 9, respectively, the inner valve member being mounted for axial movement within the rotary valve member and controlling flow through the latter to the outlet 9. The member 16 has a closure surface cooperating with a face 18 and is rotatable by a knob 30. The member 19 has a closure 23 cooperating with a face 25, in the member 6, and is movable axially by a knob 32 against the action of a spring 20. A filter 47 is formed on an extension of the member 19 and a stirrup 35 prevents accidental removal of the member 16 from a housing 1. A closure member 50 is moved to a closing position by two springs 20 when the members 16 and 19 are removed from the housing 1. A further embodiment describes an inner valve member having a spindle non- rotatably located in the outer member and having a single knob by which both members may be controlled.
