Abstract

618,611. Valves. EATON, J. June 21, 1946, No. 18666. [Class 135] A valve for controlling the flow in a conduit leading pressure fluid to and from a cylindar or like device comprises a check valve 10 urged towards a seat 4 by a spring 17 and having a blind hole 11 engaged by a pin 9 longitudinally adjustable to limit the movement of the valve towards its seat. Thus, fluid passes freely past the check valve in one direction whilst in the other direction the flow is governed by the amount the valve is allowed to remain open. The pin 9 is carried on a screwed spindle 7. The spring 17 is located by spigots 15, 16 on the valve 10 and a screw plug 12 respectively. The axis of the valve member 10 and the spindle 7 is at an angle of about 45 degrees to the bore 2, 3 through which the fluid passes.
