Abstract

637,658. Rotary conical valves. ANNICQ, J. April 24, 1947, No. 11022. [Class 135] In a rotary plug valve, the plug 1 is.mounted on a guide-rod 3 screwed into the body 2. A lever 18 is secured to the plug spindle 8 and carries a second lever 6, pivoted by a pin 19, in a longitudinal groove in the lever 18. When the levers are gripped together, the lever 6 exerts a force on the rod 3 through a ball 20, causing the lever 18, and hence the plug, to be raised against a spring 4. The rotary movement of the plug is limited by a finger 22 on the lever 6 engaging an arcuate recess in the cover 14. Two notches 23 in the recess are engaged by the finger to lock the plug in the open and closed positions. The cover is secured to the body by screwed studs which permit adjustment of the spring pressure.
