Abstract

A fluid-flow control valve operating-andindicating device comprises a housing 10, a rotatable screw-threaded spindle 12a, 12b, a nut 13 transversible within the casing, a lever 14 adapted to be rocked by the movement of the nut and having an index arm 18, and an index plate 21 having a slot 20 in which the index arm moves, the arrangement being such that the position of the arm relative to the index plate indicates the setting of the valve. The lever 14 is pivoted in the casing and has a cam slot 16 in which a pin 16 secured to the nut moves, such movement causing the arm 18 to move in the slot 20. The end 12a, and the spindle is arranged to be connected to the valve closure member and the threaded end 12b is provided with a square socket 23 for rotation by a suitable handle. A projection 22 is provided on the index plate so that even in the dark, an indication of the setting of the valve may be obtained by feeling the relative position of the projection 22 and the end of the arm 19.
