Abstract

1,142,386. Driver's brake valves. KNORRBREMSE G.m.b.H. 30 March, 1967 [30 March, 1966], No. 14675/67. Heading F2F. In a driver's brake valve, having a plate 3, Fig. 1, arranged at the outer end of the valve spindle and provided with a handle 4, an eccentric spring-loaded knob 6 has an abutment 7 which in its normal position engages a bellcrank lever 9 one arm of which serves as a control lever for a filling stroke valve 11. The spindle 1 is rotatable by handle 4 so that in the running position (F), Fig. 2 (not shown) the abutment 7 bears against bell-crank lever 9. When the driver's brake valve is moved into the filling position (F ST ) the bell-crank lever presses valve member 11 into the housing to open valve 12 to initiate filling. The abutment of the lever arm against housing surface 10 prevents further rotation of the spindle beyond the filling position (F sr ). If the system tightness testing position (D) is to be selected knob 6 is pulled upwardly against spring 5 so that the spindle can be rotated without actuation of valve 11. If the spindle is then moved in the opposite direction through the filling position (F ST ) the abutment 7 rides up along surface 13 without initiating filling.
