Abstract
1,214,584. Valves. ROBERT BOSCH G.m.b.H. 16 Feb., 1968 [18 Feb., 1967], No. 7603/68. Heading F2V. A valve adjusting knob 10 moves a closure member 4 by means of a non-rotatable spindle 19 secured in a plug 18 screw-threaded into a member 16 which is splined into a bore 14 in the knob, the knob being movable into a recess 7 in a cover 6, against the action of a spring 9, and a lockable stopping pawl 27 retains the knob in the innermost position, the depth of the recess 7 corresponding to at least the height of the knob. The knob 10 has an annular shoulder 12 which is engaged by a portion 31 of the pawl 27 after the pawl has been forced back against a spring 29 during insertion of the knob. To release the knob, a key 37 is used to rotate the pawl about an axis 28 and allow the knob to be pushed out of the recess by the spring 9. In the locked position, the knob prevents the closure member 4 from moving by frictional engagement of the base of the knob with a disc 25 and a spindle guide member 21. The disc 25 rotates an indicator 24. A further indicating scale (38), Fig. 1 (not shown), is formed around the knob opening in the cover 6. In Fig. 4 (not shown) the knob (10<SP>1</SP>) is locked by a reciprocating bolt (43).
