A lift valve comprises a valve member 17 spring loaded away from and having a pin and slot connection with an upper part 20, both parts sliding in a body sleeve 12 to which is pivoted a lever 11 operating the valve through a lever pin 34 engaging the cam slot 31 in the part 20. Projections 15 locate the sleeve in the body and prevent swirl in the outlet 6, and the sleeve, lever and parts 17, 20 form a removable unit.
