Abstract

898,662. Valves. CHECK-ALL VALVE CO. Oct. 17, 1960, No. 35550/60. Class 135. The moving closure member 12, Fig. 3, of a check valve is externally tapered at an angle of about 30 degrees and has an internal recess with a groove in which is disposed the flange 40 of a plug 18 so holding in place a pair of inverted U-shaped spring arms 46, Fig. 4, the depending portions 48, Fig. 3, of which are outwardly inclined and terminate in hooks 50. The closure member 12 is loaded by a spring 14, around the depending portions, and one end of which is disposed in the hooks 50, whilst the other end is located in an internal recess in the seat member 28. The hooks are in contact with the inner wall of the member 28 which serves as a guide therefor and hence for all the movable parts; the spring unit and member 12 are rotatable by any swirling fluid and thus keep the seat clean. The valve unit may be made of nylon.
