956,477. Valves. RHEINISCHES METALLWERK G.m.b.H. March 13, 1961 [March 14, 1960], No. 9097/61. Addition to 935,546. Heading F2V. A valve comprises a closure member formed as a part 12 having an elastomeric coating 13. The member 12 extends into a chamber 18 and the coating 13 extends above the valve seating in its closed position to form a seal with the housing to prevent leakage past the spindle 21. The chamber 18 and the upper coating part 13b are preferably tapered in the valve opening direction, the chamber 18 being tapered more sharply than the coating. The part 19 of the member 12 is preferably of squared section to prevent rotation of the valve closure.
