Abstract

1,007,437. Valves. ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Jan. 22, 1962, [Jan. 30, 1961], No. 3456/61. Heading F2V. A double-beat steam valve having a closure member 11 co-operating with a pair of seats 7, 8, the flow passage above the top seating being defined between a fixed top cover 4 and the top part of the closure member and is so shaped as to provide, in all positions of the closure member up to the fully open position, a smooth inward U-turn emerging into axial flow passages 14 in the closure member. The top cover 14 is formed with an extension 18 which, together with a similar extension 15 on the closure member, form chip shields.
