Abstract

750,738. Check valves. ELECTROL, Inc. April 30, 1954 [May 8, 1953], No. 12651/54. Class 135. The seat 24 for a check valve is formed with a groove housing a resilient ring 33 which normally projects beyond the face of the seat and is retained in the groove by a flange 34 projecting inwardly from the valve casing. The closure member 21 is spring-urged towards its seat and, when the valve is open, fluid flows around the closure member and through apertures 20 into the interior thereof. The seat 24 is formed on a connector 27 which is screwed into a second connector 10 to form the valve casing, and leakage of fluid between the two connectors is prevented by a packing ring 31.
