[Class 135] [Also in Group XXIV] In an actuating mechanism for a plugtype valve for first lift - ing it off its seat, then rotating it, and then lowering it on to its seat again, the stem 24 of the valve plug 14 is provided with a projecting pin 44 which engages in both a cam slot C in a fixed sleeve 26 and a cam slot A in an actuating sleeve 52 secured to a hand wheel spindle 50. As the sleeve 52 is rotated the slot A moves the pin 44 along the slot C to effect the desired operation.
