Abstract

583,210. Plug-cocks. LANGERAERT, M. April 11, 1939, No. 10979. Convention date, April 9, 1938. [Class 135] A plug-cock adapted to be eased from its seat and moved to the open position by the manipulation of a single handle has the plug spindle 3 formed with a screw-thread 5 and coned part 4 adapted to co-operate with corresponding parts on a member 8 rotatably mounted in a bridge 7 and keyed to a handle 9. The bridge is adjustably mounted on pillars 6. On turning the handle to open the cock, the plug is first slightly lifted and then turned. As the plug reaches the open position a projection 11 engages a stop 12 whereupon further rotation of the handle wedges the coned part 4 in its corresponding socket ready for the return movement to the closed position.
