628,162. Manually-actuated valves. GLENFIELD & KENNEDY, Ltd., and CURDIE, R. May 5, 1947, No. 12027. [Class 135] A hydraulic valve of the screw-down type comprising a rotatable spindle 1 passing through a stuffing-box 3 and being restrained from axial movement by a collar 4 has a non-rotatable, withdrawable sleeve 6 surrounding the spindle and provided with a longitudinal slot 11 for engagement by a projection 10 on a threaded valve-head member 9 to prevent rotation thereof. The sleeve 6 is held against rotation by a projection 7 engaging a slot 8 in the body. The valve-head member has a cylindrical extension 15 over which slides a tubular guide portion 14 of a loose valve-head or closure member 13.
