Abstract

934,624. Valves. BENDIX CORPORATION. Dec. 28, 1961 [Jan. 12, 1961], No. 46521/61. Class 135. A valve comprises a tubular body 10, 14 with a coaxial obturator sleeve 13 sealingly engaged in the body and slidable axially toward or away from a fixed seat 20, 21 to control flow between the inlet 15 and outlet 11 through an annular passage round the seat, and a manual actuating member 30, 31 rotatably surrounding the body and coupled to the sleeve to cause axial movement thereof, the sleeve having peripherally threaded arms 22 extending through longitudinal slots in the body and engaging a thread on the actuating member 30, 31. One of these arms mounts a valve position indicating stem 40 extending out of the body. The space enclosed between the sleeve 13 and the actuating member 31 is filled with grease lubricant.
