A wall-hydrant comprises a conduit 10 extending through a wall (not shown) and having at its inward junction end 14 a valve-chamber with a seating 25 which co-operates with a valve body 27 at the end of a rod 30 which passes through, and is rotatably screwed into, an exterior junction 21 and has exposed turning means 38 which give the rod linear movement. The valve body 17 has a flexible washer 28 and the valve chamber is longitudinally grooved around it (Fig. 3, not shown) to permit flow of liquid when the valve is open. A detachable cover 43, 45 is provided over the exterior junction 21.
