Abstract

1,156,673. Valves. SANTON Ltd. 28 Oct., 1966 [28 Oct., 1965], No. 45619/65. Heading F2V. [Also in Division F4] A vacuum relief valve adapted to relieve transient low pressure conditions in a swimming pool water heater comprises a member 2 screwed in a wall 1 of the heater with a portion 3 immersed in water flowing therethrough. An axial bore 4 of the member 2 is open to atmosphere at one end and communicates with the interior of the heater through one or more holes 5, and a resilient sleeve 8 covering the portion 3 moves to permit entry of atmospheric air through the bore 4 into the heater upon sub-atmospheric pressure conditions arising therein.
