Abstract
1337110 Valves PEGLERS Ltd 19 Jan 1971 [3 March 1970] 10184/70 Heading F2V A float valve has at least two non-adjustable non-return valves of which at least one is disposed in the float valve water inlet or outlet passage to close that passage to prevent backflow, another non-return valve serving as an air-break or being disposed in series with the said one non-return valve. In Fig. 1, the float valve has a flexible non-return valve 24 in the dip tube 13 and another 19 in passage 23 controlling air admission. Vent holes 17 are also provided. In another embodiment valve 24 is omitted and valve washer 10 is replaced by a loose plastics ball serving also as a non-return valve. In a further embodiment, a float valve 1 has a fitting 36 provided with a non-return inlet valve 40 and an air-break ball 38. In other embodiments, two loose ball or flexible non- return valves are provided in the float valve inlet passage, or a flexible non-return valve is disposed in the Fig. 1 valve inlet.
