Abstract

1,208,719. Venting apparatus. SULZER BROS. Ltd. 7 March, 1969 [26 March, 1968], No. 12252/69. Heading B8X. [Also in Division B1] A closed concrete tank has a vent line 13 with a valve 14 for venting air which automatically closes when liquid reaches the valve, and a buffer chamber 15 which is connected to the vent line by a line 21. The buffer chamber protects the tank against excessive pressures due to water hammer on closure of the valve. The valve and buffer chamber are screened by a housing 22 having heaters 24 affording protection against frost.
