937,143. Valves. S. A. DES USINES CHAUSSON. July 22, 1960, No. 25618/60. Class 135. A relief valve, e.g. a radiator relief valve comprises a member 8 having an interrupted flange 9 which engages an interrupted flange 7 of a piping 3 extending from a water tank 2 of a radiator 1. The member 8 has a neck 12 leading to a cup-shaped part 13, the lip 14 of which normally seats on shoulder 4 of the piping 3. The lip 14 is raised from the seat 4 when the pressure in the radiator rises sufficiently to distort the walls 11, 13. The bore 15 of the neck 12 is normally closed by an elastic member 16, but on lowering of the pressure in the radiator the member 16 is distorted to admit air into the tank 2.
