Abstract

1,042,500. Valves. M. VON LINSINGEN, [trading as BOCHUMER EISENHUTTE HEINTZMANN & CO.]. Aug. 6, 1963, No. 31011/63. Addition to 1,009,755. Heading F2V. A fluid pressure valve has a spring element formed by a member of rubber-like plastics material having a Shore hardness A of at least 80 degrees and a modulus of elasticity of at least 100 kg./sq. cm. at room temperature. Suitable materials are " Vulkollane " or " Phoenolane " (Registered Trade Marks). Such an element 24 is subjected to a preliminary compression to remove any deformability within the range and is connected to a valve shut-off member 30 which co-operates with a seat 33 of similar rubber material. The member 30 is fixed to a slidable rod 25 or slidable on a fixed rod whicu conducts the fluid pressure to act on a surface 35 of the shut-off member in the opening direction. The spring element is isolated from the fluid pressure and the outlet and is not subjected directly to any fluid forces. The fluid pressure also acts on an area d of the shutoff member in a closing direction. The spring element 24 may be formed by an annulus or may be several rods equally spaced around the rod 25.
