960,615. Valves. SEPARATOR A.B. May 23, 1961 [May 30, 1960], No. 18549/61. Headng F2V. A valve has a conical plug 11 provided with a through-flow passage 16 and a covering 12 of resilient material, such as rubber, which is formed at each end of the conical surface of the plug into a resilient sealing lip 19, 32, the plug being pressable against its seat by a locking device 30 and being pressable out of its seat only to such an extent that a satisfactory seal is maintained by the resilient lips 19, 32. The covering may be of a plastic material, may not extend across the base of the plug and is secured to the latter by collars glued or vulcanized into grooves 17, 18. A lock nut 30 constitutes the locking device and holds the plug against a ring-shaped shoulder 28.
