Abstract

908,594. Oxy-acetylene cutting-torches. SVENSKA A.B. GASACCUMULATOR. July 20, 1961, No. 26311/61. Class 75 (1). [Also in Group XXIX] In a cutting-torch having a cylindrical valve 12 adapted to engage with its cylindrical surface an 0-ring 11 to cut off the oxygen flow, a flange 17 is provided on the shaft 13 of the valve and is adapted to abut a guide sleeve 16 to define the closed position of the valve. A spring 18 acts between the flange 17 and a washer 10 abutting the 0-ring to hold the valve in closed position. The end of the valve shaft is formed as a piston 14 and slides in the guide sleeve 16. A further 0-ring 15 is mounted on the piston. The valve is opened by a lever 19 which abuts the end of the piston. The diameter of the piston 14 may be greater than or equal to that of the valve.
