855,651. Sliding bolts. TURNER & SMITH (BRASSFOUNDERS) Ltd. July 15, 1959 [July 15, 1958], No. 22584/58. Class 44. In a door bolt of the sunk sliding type, the bolt 7 is provided with notches 14, 14 and 15, 15 which are adapted to be engaged by a spring member 16 to retain the bolt in its advanced or retracted position. As shown, the bolt 7 is slidably mounted on a recessed portion 6 of an L-shaped member 5 and is operated by a finger piece 11. The spring member 16 comprises a cross-piece which is secured to the member 5 and two extensions 18 which engage one or other of the pairs of notches in the bolt.
