Abstract

749,102. Locks. YALE & TOWNE MANUFACTURING CO. June 28, 1954, No. 18886/54. Class 44. A lock of the kind in which a lock-body slides upon a bar so as to lock relatively to each other the members with which the bar and the lock body are engaged, comprises a ratcheting member 11, a U-shaped spring 15 mounted in the lock body and extending longitudinally on one face of the ratcheting member, the legs of the U-shaped spring and a key plug 13 for rotating the cam to spread the legs to release the lock body for sliding movement on the ratcheting member. As shown, the spring 15 which is retained in the lock body 10 by a pin 16, is provided with diverging detent portions 19 which normally engage ratchet teeth 20 on member 11.
