Abstract
1,197,893. Latches. CASTLE PRODUCTS Ltd. 21 July, 1967 [22 July, 1966], No. 32949/66. Heading E2A. A latch mechanism for actuation by a pushbutton 42 on at least one side of a door is preferably made of nylon parts and comprises a sliding bolt 30 loaded by a spring 34, and one or, as shown, two pairs off links, the links 35, 35' of each pair being pivoted together at one end of each by comptementarily shaped portions, and one link having its other end 37 pivoted in fixed bearings 29 and the other link having its other end 37 slidably pivoted in .grooves 27 and engaging a projection 40 on the stem of the bolt so that when the push-button is depressed, the links of the pair are straightened and the bolt is withdrawn. The housing 11 is formed in two parts which fit together and are so shaped as to fit within a cylindrical hole, and has a flange 21 by which it is secured in the door.
