Abstract

967,947. Sliding bolts. E. HOLDEN & CO. (B'HAM) Ltd., and E. J. HOLDEN. July 2, 1963, No. 26124/63. Heading E2A. In a flush fitting bolt in which the bolt 11 is slidable relatively to a fixing plate 10, the inner end of the bolt is associated with a depressible means with which is associated a locking means which coacts with parts of the fixing plate 10 to lock the bolt both in the shot and retracted positions, but which permits of the bolt to be freed and to become actuable upon depression of the depressible means. As shown, the fixing plate is formed with a depression 104 having a slot 105 for a press knob 12 which is attached to the tail of the bolt 11 and which is loaded by a plate spring 13. The bolt tail is formed with tongues 113, 114 which, when the bolt is moved to the shot and retracted positions after depression of the knob 12 engage respectively with the rear and front ends of the slot 105.
