Abstract

298,831. Deutsch, E. Feb. 4, 1928. Hasp fastenings; latches, preventing operation of; latches, sliding.-In a sliding latch, particularly for hasp locks for attache cases &c., of the kind in which the latch bolt 11 is hand-operable by a nozzle 13 through which a key may be introduced to operate a slidable retaining member 14 mounted on the bolt and serving when operated to lock the bolt in shot position by a pro. jection 18 on member 14 engaging an aperture in' the casing, a hand-operable bolt 21 is provided transversely movable at the rear of the latch bolt 11 to retain the latch bolt in shot position. Bolt 21 has a projection 22 which engages behind the tail of member 14 to prevent its retraction, a projection 16 on member 14 at the same time abutting against the rear face of a projection 17 on bolt 11 to prevent retraction of the bolt.
