Abstract

385,902. Door fastenings. REINER, T., 7, Klenzestrasse, Munich, Germany. Aug. 16, 1932, No. 22936. [Class 44.] To permit limited opening of a door, the sliding bolt 3 of a lock when in its half-shot position engages with a keeper 8 which is movable away from the door post 6 against a spring 11. In its fully shot position the bolt engages with a fixed keeper 7. A bolt 20 which engages with a fixed keeper 21 may be provided and may be withdrawn independently of the operation of the bolt 3 when the latter is half-shot. When the bolt 3 is fully retracted, the bolt 20 is withdrawn by means of a projection 25 which engages one end of a recess 26. The bolt 3 may be held fully shot by a lug 29 on a sliding tumbler 5 engaging a notch 31 and in this position engages with the projection 25 on the bolt 20 to prevent withdrawal. The movable keeper 8 may be mounted on a rod sliding in a bore in the door post or on a chain 9 housed in a casing 10, a pin 16 limiting its outward movement.
