Abstract

201,212. Duncombe, J. Dec. 7, 1922. Lock mechanism, tumbler-type.-In a lock having a dead bolt locked in either position by a pivoted spring-pressed tumbler, the tumbler spring is mounted on a projection on the tumbler and bears on the stump of the tumbler which works in a gated slot in the bolt, and the length of the key bit which operates the tumbler is less than that which operates the bolt. The tumbler 1 pivoted to the casing at 8 has a stump 4 working in the gated slot 3 of the bolt 2. The spring 6 which keeps the stump in one of the end recesses 5 of the slot 3 is mounted on the pin 7 on the tumbler 1, one limb bearing on the casing and the other on the stump 4.
