Sliding bolts; locks, -revolving - barrel. - In a lock of the type in which a bolt is actuated by a spring- loaded operating arm engaging a gate in the bolt so that the bolt can be locked by the arm in two positions, the arm g has a projection f at right-angles to it engaged by projections q, Fig. 4, on a plate p connected with the operating tongue of a cylinder lock. The projection f engages flats j in the shot or withdrawn position of the bolt to lock the bolt, and a spring-pressed arm n holds the arm g by bearing against the projection f. In a modification, the arm 5, Fig. 7. has a projection 3 on an extension 6 engaged by a key-operated cam 1, Fig. 8, on the back of a cylinder 2. A bow spring 7 may bear against the extension 6 to hold the arm in the extreme positions.
