Abstract
1458749 Locks DAEMPA A S 8 April 1974 [13 April 1973] 15534/74 Heading E2A A latch bolt 3 is normally held in a partially projected position, Fig. 4, by a pawl 16 abutting the rear of the forend plate 2, but when the door is shut the bolt is pushed back as the striker plate 21 engages bevel 16, and a lip at the nose of the bolt carries back a slider 19 against spring pressure or friction. Once the slider is lodged against the striker plate, Fig. 6, the pawl rides up out of a slot 18 and is then held back so that the bolt can shoot forward to the extended position shown. In this position, it is locked by detents 22, 23, Fig. 3, and can only be retracted by handleoperated follower 11.
