1307848 Latches EATON YALE & TOWNE Inc 2 June 1970 [9 June 1969] 29029/69 Heading E2A A fastening for a door or the like comprises a spring-urged bolt and a keeper therefor, the bolt head 12 having a pivoted nose piece 14 movable between two positions relative to the bolt, a spring 16 loading the nose piece with a force smaller than the spring force acting on the bolt to one position in which the bolt is movable freely into and out of engagement with the keeper 17 and a shoulder 20 in the keeper engageable by the nose piece to prevent the bolt being withdrawn from the keeper of the nose piece is in the second position as a result of a force being applied thereto by a blade 21 in a direction to retract the bolt. The fastening may comprise a night latch.
