Abstract

906,077. Emergency exits. AUSTER Ltd., and SMALL, W. W. April 10, 1961 [May 7, 1960], No. 16226/60. Class 108(1). An emergency exit which may be a window 2 is hinged at its upper edge at 6 and has its lower edge retained in position by means of two slidable bolts 10, 15, having apertures 27, 28 which are engaged by a triangular cam plate 25 which is operated by a push handle 30 inside the vehicle or a pull handle 38 on the outside of the vehicle so that the bolts are withdrawn from their locking members 21 on the vehicle body frame. A spring 17 interposed between the ends of the sliding bolts serves to return them to their locking positions when the cam plate is withdrawn.
