Abstract

856,772. Vehicle windows. AUSTER Ltd., and SMALL, W. W. Aug. 24, 1959 [Sept. 25, 1958], No. 30600/58. Class 20(3) [Also in Group XXXII] A window 1 serving as an emergency exit is hinged along one edge and secured in position along the other edge by two slidable rods 15 having enlarged heads 18 to engage recesses in the lugs 19 of the bracket 20 secured to the body 5. The rods 15 are spring-pressed into engagement with the conical head 9 of a reciprocable release member 7 which is moved axially, to disengage the fastening, by means of a pull handle 13 outside the vehicle or a pivoted push-member 10 inside the vehicle.
