888,170. Sashless sliding windows. MIGNEAULT, R., and MIGNEAULT, F. W. May 18, 1960 [March 28, 1960], No. 17534/60. Class 20(3) [Also in Group XXV] In a sashless sliding window the top panel 18 rests on shoulders 14 formed in a track 7 with the upper edge of the top panel engaging the head piece of the main frame and the peripheral portion of its outer face engaging a rear flanged edge portion 12 of the track 7 and the lower panel 20 slides in a channel formed on the track 7 and terminating at 15a below the top panel 18 so that in the absence of the bottom panel the track 7 is forwardly unobstructed to permit withdrawal of the top panel. The lower panel when closed overlaps the top panel and is resiliently urged against strips 13a and against the top panel 18 by a spring pressed roller 37. The lower panel 20 has on its lower edge a flanged member 22 with spring pressed bolts 26 engaging notches 33, 34 for locking and holding the panel 20 in adjusted position.
