A pivoted window has a metal or plastics sash and frame both formed from two or three profiled members interengaged in a force fit and glued together. In the embodiment of Fig. 5, the bottom two members 27, 28 of the sash are reversed at the pivot point to become 31, 32, and similarly the top two frame members 25, 26 become 33, 34. Frame members may be joined at the corners by L-shaped connectors 6, 7 (Fig. 2, not shown), or at points along the sides of the frame by straight connectors (Fig. 3, not shown).
