Abstract

952,602. Sliding clasp fasteners. E. M. ALBERT. Jan. 6, 1961 [Feb. 22, 1960], No. 6155/60. Heading E2S. A puller is pivotally mounted on the slider of a sliding clasp fastener by the engagement of a transverse bar (not shown) forming part of the puller beneath a bridge on the slider, an H- shaped spring 6 being provided beneath the bar to urge the bar against the bridge. The bridge is formed by two lugs 4, 5 which initially define a channel into which the bar is inserted, the lugs being bent to meet one another and close over the bar after it has been inserted. The puller has flat surfaces 7 and 8 (not shown) at 90 degrees to one another and the spring therefore acts to locate the puller in two definite positions one of which is arranged to be horizontal and the other vertical with reference to the surface of the slider. The puller has a tooth 9 for engaging between the fastener elements to lock the slider in position.
