Abstract

909,652. Locks. VOSS, J., [trading as VOSS KOMM.-GES., JOSEPH]. March 27, 1961 [March 25, 1960], No. 11024/61. Class 44. A double-ended cylinder lock comprises two cylinders 21, 22 each of which, when a key is inserted, turns a toothed rack to operate a sliding bolt 6 which is formed from two parts 6<SP>1</SP>, 6<SP>11</SP> connected together by a screw 10<SP>1</SP>. The key pushes the member 23 into engagement with a groove in the operative cylinder so that as the cylinder is turned the member 23 turns, through a pin 24, a hub 19 having a projecting pin 20 which moves in a groove 17 to engage an abutment member 30 to turn a quadrant rack 15 which operates the bolt. The part 611 of the bolt has a length not greater than the width of the casing for the cylinders and has a groove 12 in which a retaining pin 13 slides. A spring- loaded ball 14 holds the slide bolt in its end positions. The part 6<SP>1</SP> of the bolt has two pins which mate with holes in the part 6<SP>11</SP> and is bored to receive the bolt 10<SP>1</SP> holding the two parts together.
