Abstract

1,021,089. Latches. J. VOSS [trading as JOSEF VOSS KOMM.-GES.]. Dec. 31, 1962 [Jan. 8, 1962], No. 48993/62. Heading E2A. A door lock comprises a casing 1 adapted to be mounted in the door, a retainer-controlled latch bolt 4 projecting from the casing and being selectively operable by a lock cylinder 6 or 7 in two revolutions thereof or by a latch handle 15, the casing being formed with a bore 10 parallel with the cylinder and having a hub sleeve 11 for the hub 14 of the latch handle and a hub lever 32 pivoted in the casing and connecting the hub sleeve to the latch bolt to act directly on a tail piece 4<SP>11</SP> of the latch bolt corresponding in length to the width of the casing. In the arrangement shown, each lock barrel is operatively connected to the latch bolt through a retainer comprising a pin and rocker mechanism 25, 26, the arrangement being such that when the bolt is operated to the locked position by either lock, the handles are inoperative. In other arrangements Figs. 10 to 16 (not shown) the pin and rocker connection between the lock barrels and the latch bolt is replaced by a spring-loaded slidable plate adjacent the bolt and which is engageable by a lever arm on the barrels.
