234,367. Main, Ltd., R. & A., and Richardson, A. H. Oct. 23, 1924. Locking-catches.-A locking device for plug cocks comprising a catch-piece A hinged to a strap E<2> secured to the cock, or to lugs on the cock has the locking end A' of the catch arranged to engage the handle H of the cock at a part between the plug and the centre line of the handle at right angles to the plug. The member A may be mounted on a plug B carried by lugs C formed on one member D of the strap. The other member E of the strap is knuckle jointed at D<1> to the member D and the two parts are drawn together by a screw F. In a modification the strap comprises two similar parts and the catch is arranged between them. When the cock is used in the horizontal position the catch may rest on the shoulder K of the plug and stops may be formed in the strap to hold the strap in the required position.
