302,747. Creser, A. A. T. Oct. 3, 1927. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Ball-and-socket joints. - The end of one pipe is provided with a spherical member D which is adapted to contact with a spherical surface C formed in. a nipple A on the adjacent end of the second pipe by means of a coupling nut E having a shoulder also formed with a spherical surface as shown. The bore of the nipple A is enlarged at B, while a leather &c. washer may be threaded over the end of the first pipe with its periphery gripped between the member D and surface C. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 102,345 and 107,243.
