Abstract

319,948. Love, F. Oct. 12, 1928. Stuffing-box joints.- The end of a metal pipe 4 is secured within a fitting 1 in a fluidtight manner by a rubber &c. ring 5 of tapered formation which is compressed between the pipe end and a conical surface provided within the end of the fitting by a sleeve-nut 7 screwed on said fitting. A metal washer 8 is interposed between the ring 5 and nut 7. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 17509/97.
