Abstract

331,758. Clark, A. E. Sept. 12, 1929. Joints with longitudinal pressure and with yielding outer part compressed.-A pipe coupling comprises a sleeve 1 which receives the ends of the pipes, nuts 2, 3 screwing into the sleeve and compressible rings 8, 9 which are caused to deform the pipes when the nuts are tightened. The rings have inter-engaging conical surfaces and are preferably of vulcanized fibre when used with copper pipes. A washer 12 is placed between the nut and the rings.
