Abstract

Una composición de revestimiento que comprende una imprimación termoendurecible de epoxi, que comprende: (i) una resina epoxi que tiene un EEW de 860 a 930; (ii) un agente de curado fenólico con funcionalidad polihidroxilo que tiene un peso equivalente de hidroxilo de aproximadamente 200 a aproximadamente 500; y (iii) un material de carga, en donde dicha imprimación termoendurecible de epoxi está sustancialmente exenta de cinc.

La aplicación de las composiciones de imprimaciones y capas superiores descritas anteriormente a acero de alta tracción puede llevarse a cabo mediante cualquier técnica conocida, tal como, sin limitación, los siguientes Métodos 1 a 3. Independientemente de la técnica de aplicación usada, el revestimiento compuesto (imprimación y capa superior) formado sobre la aleación de acero de alta tracción puede contener una imprimación discreta, como ejemplo no limitante, de aproximadamente 1,5 a aproximadamente 4,0 miles de grosor, en contacto con la superficie del acero pretratada. La capa superior del revestimiento compuesto puede formar también una capa superior discreta, como ejemplo no limitante, de aproximadamente 10 a aproximadamente 35 miles de grosor, que está unida a la capa de imprimación subyacente. La composición de revestimiento también puede aplicarse con una imprimación y sin una capa superior.
Técnicas de aplicación
1.
Método 1 -El acero se calienta hasta aproximadamente 104 a aproximadamente 193 ºC (aproximadamente 220 a aproximadamente 380 ºF) para una deposición más ideal, seguido de la aplicación sucesiva de la imprimación y la capa superior. Después, el acero revestido se calienta de nuevo para crear una capa de revestimiento compuesta y conseguir un desarrollo de propiedades completo sobre el sistema de revestimiento.

Método 2 -La imprimación se aplica a aleación de acero de alta tracción a temperatura ambiente seguido de calentamiento a aproximadamente 104 a aproximadamente 193 ºC (aproximadamente 220 a aproximadamente 380 ºF) para fundir o curar parcialmente el revestimiento. La capa superior se aplica al acero caliente usando idealmente el calor residual que queda del calentamiento de la imprimación. Después, el acero revestido se calienta de nuevo para crear una capa compuesta y conseguir un desarrollo de propiedades completo sobre el sistema de revestimiento.
3.
Método 3 -La imprimación y la capa superior se aplican sucesivamente a acero de alta tracción a temperatura ambiente de un modo de polvo “seco sobre seco” seguido de un único ciclo de calentamiento de aproximadamente 104 a aproximadamente 193 ºC (aproximadamente 220 a aproximadamente 380 ºF) para crear una capa de revestimiento compuesta y conseguir un desarrollo de propiedades completo sobre el sistema de revestimiento.
