Definitions
- the invention relates to a step in or on the walking surface of a walkway on non-built ground, comprising a support module for the vertical area of the step, as well as a lateral support of a walkway crossing a slope.
- a wooden board with a vertically aligned surface and a longitudinal direction aligned perpendicular to the direction of the path is arranged as a support for a step on the path.
- the board leans on steel spikes that are driven into the ground in front of the board.
- subsoil material - earth, gravel, stones - is piled up to form an approximately horizontal step surface.
- a round piece of wood is used instead of a board.
- the construction method with a wooden board or round piece of wood resting on the inclined ground, which is supported on the valley side by spikes that are driven into the ground and with their protruding longitudinal area rests laterally on the valley side of the wood, is known to be used not only for steps on walkways, but also as a valley-side lateral support for walkways that cross a slope on sloping terrain.
- the simple and inexpensive design of this support module made of wood and steel skewers has the disadvantages of low durability, the risk of slipping on wet wood and the risk of injury from the metal skewers.
- the metal skewers often protrude from the ground for years after the wood has rotted away.
- EP753645B1 , DE 9316169 U1 , EP3461966A1 and GB2410038A show step elements that are not anchored in the landscape as permanent steps, but are used more as temporary work platforms. They each have a horizontal base, from the edges of which pluggable areas (walls or rods) protrude vertically downwards, which are inserted somewhat into the ground as intended. Presumably due to Due to its bulkiness and high weight, the construction method has not been established for permanent arrangement on mander paths.
- Steps are formed by placing concrete profiles with an L-section on slopes in such a way that the larger profile surface is horizontal and the smaller profile surface on the valley side of the larger profile surface protrudes vertically downwards.
- spikes are driven into the subsoil through openings at the free end of the larger profile surface. The openings and thus the upper ends of the spikes are covered by the concrete profile next on top. Due to the weight of the step elements, the construction method is only suitable for use in places where construction machinery can be driven in.
- the DE 4131349 A1 shows a US 3343316 A closely related construction with the same disadvantages.
- the FR 1462370 A shows a step element for temporary use.
- Two triangular frame elements form the side elements of a step element.
- the side elements are connected by a horizontal, grooved tread.
- the step element formed in this way is held by spikes or by hooking onto an upper step element.
- the construction is too delicate and also too difficult to adapt to different slope gradients.
- the GB2410038A and the EP753645B1 show staircase sections consisting of several steps, each of which is formed by a sheet metal surface that is bent into a zigzag surface by alternating 90° bends and placed on a slope. It is anchored to the slope by spikes that run through the sheet metal surface into the slope material.
- the construction cannot be adapted to different slope gradients.
- the EP2657403B1 shows a support part for a step of a walkway where the support part is a sheet metal part and similar to the The wooden board mentioned above forms the vertical surface of the step.
- the sheet metal part is anchored to the ground by spikes that are driven into the ground.
- the spikes are either rigidly connected to the sheet metal part or are guided to it by a pipe that is welded to the sheet metal part.
- the construction is very robust and flexible and promotes the mutually stabilizing connection of the support part with a handrail post.
- the disadvantages are the high manufacturing costs and possibly the pipes that are open at the top for the spikes to pass through.
- the EN 103 03 640 A1 describes several designs of metal partition walls as a replacement for precast concrete parts or natural stones for use on non-built-up subsoil.
- the possible use of the design as a support for steps in or on the walking surface of a walkway is not considered or mentioned.
- the partition wall has the shape of a flat U-profile, which is arranged with a flank surface underneath when in use, whereby anchoring to the subsoil is achieved by spikes or similar, which are inserted into the subsoil through a bridge in the lower flank surface.
- the JP S5973436 U shows a support element for the edge of a stair step which is located between the vertical front surface of the step and the tread surface above it.
- the support element comprises an angle profile which runs along the said edge, with one angle leg lying on the vertical surface of the step and the second, horizontally aligned angle leg extending the tread surface forwards.
- the angle profile is held by two spikes stuck vertically into the ground, which protrude with longitudinal areas protruding from the ground into the angle between the two angle legs and thereby lie against both angle legs.
- the top of the horizontally aligned angle leg has a grooved, and This creates a non-slip surface.
- the design is very simple, but the support is low both to the front and to the bottom and the many protruding edges pose a risk of injury.
- the EP 2319294 A1 and the GB215529A show elongated metallic elements which serve to demarcate two essentially equally high outdoor areas, typically in the garden, for example between a lawn or a flowerbed on the one hand and a gravelled walkway on the other.
- the object underlying the invention is to provide a support module for the vertical area of a step in or on the walking surface of an outdoor walkway, wherein the support module consists essentially of sheet metal.
- the support module consists of sheet metal.
- the support module consists of a support part made of sheet metal and of spikes, whereby the spikes each penetrate an area of the support part and are inserted into the ground.
- the support part as a gutter profile made of sheet metal, in which a profile groove is delimited by a central base surface and two lateral flank surfaces, wherein on both flank surfaces an edging surface curved in the direction of the profile groove adjoins the respective free longitudinal side, and wherein one of the two flank surfaces has openings for the skewers.
- the support part is used as a step in the walkway - i.e. so that the walking surface is above and below the support part - the second flank surface is provided on its outer side 2. in particular with an anti-slip surface.
- the support part is used as a valley-side support step on the walking surface of a footpath crossing a slope - i.e. so that the walking surface only connects above the support part, then no surface needs to be provided with an anti-slip surface.
- a support part 1 of a support module is a channel profile - a type of C-profile. When installed, it is arranged with the base surface 2 at least approximately vertical.
- the flank surface 3, 5 is followed by a surface which is further referred to as the edging surface 7. and is bent from the respective flank surface 3, 5 in the direction of the profile groove enclosed by the base surface 2 and flank surfaces 3, 5.
- the upper edging surface 7 projects downwards away from the flank surface 5, and the lower edging surface 7 projects upwards away from the flank surface 3.
- the edging surfaces 7 increase the strength of the support part 1 against various bending deformations in a very economical manner.
- the base surface 2 forms the vertical surface of a step in or on the walking surface of an outdoor walkway.
- the outer side of the base surface 2 is the visible side of the step.
- the lower, first flank surface 3 rests on the ground.
- a spike 9 runs through at least two of its openings 4.
- the spikes 9 were hammered into the ground before the support part 1 was attached, and then the support part 1 was placed from above onto the freely protruding ends.
- a galvanized round steel bar for example with a diameter of 15 mm, is typically used as a spike.
- the spikes are hammered into the ground just far enough - or cut off at the top - that their uppermost longitudinal area projects into the height area of the upper edging surface 7, so that the inside of the upper edging surface can rest against the spikes 9.
- Subsoil material 10 (stones, gravel, soil) is piled up onto the back of the support part 1 - i.e. into the channel formed by the base surface 2 and the flank surfaces 3, 5 - so that a tread surface is formed which is substantially flush with the second flank surface 5.
- the support part 8 of Fig.3 is opposite the support part 2 of Fig.1 and Fig.2 somewhat further developed.
- the base surface 11 is bent in an elongated S-shape so that it has an overhanging area 12 on its outside when installed. This forms a so-called step nose. Compared to a flat base surface, this results in a slightly longer tread on the step and the visual appearance is greatly improved.
- a side plate 14 is attached to the support part 8.
- the Fig.5 The side plate 14, which is sketched in perspective on its own, is useful when the support part 1 is not inserted into a recess in a slope, but is arranged raised above the slope.
- the side plate 14 then prevents subsoil material, which is piled up on the rear side of the support part 8 for the purpose of forming a tread surface, from trickling away or being washed away.
- the main surface 15 of the side plate 14 extends perpendicular to the base surface 11 of the support part 8 beyond the rear side of the support part 8 to the rear, i.e. from the support part 8 to the mountain side of the slope.
- sheet metal tongues 16, 17 protrude from the main surface 15 of the side plate 14 into the profile groove on the support part 8 delimited by the flank surfaces 5, 13 and the base surface 11 and rest there under elastic prestress on the flank surfaces 5, 13.
- the lower sheet metal tongue 17 is additionally hooked with a curved end region to an opening 4 in the first (lower) flank surface 13. This connection between the support part 8 and the side plate 14 can be easily produced on site if necessary, even without auxiliary tools.
- the support part 1, 8 designed according to the invention can be combined very well with a water channel 18 as an optional additional part - as in Fig.7 and Fig.8 shown.
- the water channel 18 runs along the support part 8 in the tread area located above the support part 8. It serves to direct water that reaches the tread area away to the side.
- the water channel 18 shown is a trough profile with a base surface 19 and two flank surfaces 20.
- the height of the water channel 18 increases continuously over its length, i.e. the base surface 19 is inclined by several degrees relative to the upper, assumed horizontally running front side of the flank surfaces 20, as is advantageous for drainage channels.
- flank surface 20 of the water channel 18 rests with its upper inner area flat on the inside of the edging surface 7 of the support part 8.
- the upper end face of the said flank surface 20 can rest on the second (upper) flank surface 5 of the support part.
- the spike 9 rests on the outside of the flank surface 20.
- the underside of its base surface 19 of the water channel 18 rests on the substrate material 10. As in Fig.8 As shown, the water channel 18 can protrude laterally over the support part 8 and thus direct water away from the immediate vicinity of the support part 8.
- a support part 21 is shown, onto which a water channel 22 is formed monolithically.
- the edging surface 23 is simultaneously the flank surface of the water channel 22, whereby the water channel 22 extends on the rear side of the support part 21 and, in addition to the first flank surface, also has a base surface 24 and a second flank surface 25.
- This type of construction of a support part 21 can also be produced by rolling and punching a sheet metal strip.
- Fig.10 and Fig. 11 deal with a support module or support part 26 according to the invention for use as a valley-side lateral support of a walkway which crosses a slope - with or without a gradient.
- the support part 26 is again a channel profile, i.e. a type of C-profile. When installed, it is arranged with the base surface 2 at least approximately vertical.
- the first flank surface 3, which is located at the bottom in the installed situation, is pierced by openings 4. There should be at least one such opening 4 at each longitudinal end. However, a grid of openings 4 spaced apart from one another can also extend over the entire length of the first flank surface 3.
- the second flank surface 27, which is located at the top in the installation situation, is not provided with an anti-slip surface for economic reasons, since it does not actually need to serve as a tread for people on foot.
- flank surfaces 3, 27 which is opposite the base surface 2 is followed by a border surface 7 which is bent from the respective flank surface 3, 27 in the direction of the profile groove enclosed by the base surface 2 and flank surfaces 3, 27.
- the border surfaces 7 increase the strength of the support part 1 against various bending deformations in a very economical manner.
- the use of the support parts 26 on sidewalks means that they have to be carried to the place of use by people - often over several hundred meters. For this reason, a support part 26 should not weigh more than about 20 kg, preferably not more than 15 kg.
- the C-profile design proposed according to the invention makes it possible, for example, to design a support part 26 from sheet steel so that it weighs just under 15 kg at a length of 2.8 m and a height of 20 cm and is nevertheless sufficiently robust against all the loads that can be expected during operation.
- a rectangular hollow profile made of sheet steel with the same external dimensions and comparable robustness would be significantly heavier.
- a support part 26 Since slope crossings of footpaths often extend over long distances, it is necessary to arrange several support parts 26 in a row along a footpath. So that neighboring support parts 26 can be easily linked together, they are preferably arranged as in Fig.10 visibly provided on the front side with a tab 28 which is penetrated by screw through holes 29. Both front sides of a support part 26 are each provided with a tab 28, and the surface of a tab preferably extends normal to the longitudinal direction of the support part 26 into the cross-sectional area of the channel delimited by the base surface 2 and the flank surfaces 7.
- the front sides of the two support parts which are arranged facing one another can be connected simply by screws and associated nuts, with the screws extending through the screw through holes 29 which are aligned with one another in the two adjacent tabs 28 of the two support parts 26.
- a screw diameter smaller than the diameter of the screw through holes 29 and by not tightening the screw connections, it is possible to arrange successive support parts 26 with slightly different longitudinal directions so that the lateral support can follow path curves.
- Fig. 11 serves to describe both the usual installation situation and a special installation situation of a support part 26 when it is used as a support part of a step on the side of a walkway.
- a support part 26 is held as previously described on the support parts 1, 8, 21 simply by spikes 9 which are inserted into the substrate material 10 and protrude upwards through openings 4 in the first (lower) flank surface 3 and rest against the inside of the edging surface 7 adjoining the flank surface 3.
- the cross anchor 33 is held against slipping towards the valley side of the walkway 31 by one or more further spikes 35.
- the further spikes 35 extend through a vertically aligned further opening in the cross anchor 33 into the subsurface material 10.
- the cross anchor 33 and the further spikes 35 are covered by subsurface material. Due to this design, the spike 9, which is in direct contact with the support part 26, is extremely well held against movement towards the valley side of the walkway 31.
- the cross anchor 33 can have a longitudinal area 36 which protrudes from under the support part 26 on the side facing away from the walkway 31 and has an opening 37 through which, if necessary, a post for a railing or a handrail can be passed into the subsurface material 10. This post is then also well held against sideways movement towards the valley side by the cross anchor 33.
- the cross anchor 33 does not have to be designed as a single monolithic part. It can also be constructed from several individual parts that can be optionally connected to one another, which means that it can be adapted to different requirements in a modular manner.

Description

- Fig. 1:

Fig. 7 undFig. 8 gezeigt.
- In
