Abstract

215,529. Tickle, L. B., and Barnes, H. J. W. March 29, 1923. Garden edging.-Metal edging for borders &c. consists of strips of sheet iron &c. having their upper edges rolled into a large bead and their lower edges bent approximately at right angles. They may be formed with vertical and longitudinal ribs, grooves, &c. for strengthening and decorative purposes. The stamped strips shown are provided with an inturned strip 2 connected to the main strip by a bead 3, and with grooves or swage lines at each end. The strips are connected together by short tubes, pins, or exten. sions 6 fitting into the rolled beads 5 of the adjacent strips. Corner strips are mitred at the end and connected together by angle pins 14. The strips are held in place by stakes driven through holes 8 and through riveted loops 9. The strips may be curved, and may be enamelled, galvanized, or sherardized.
