Definitions
- the invention relates to a support module for the vertical area of a step in or on the walking surface of a sidewalk on a non-built-up surface.
- a wooden board with a vertically oriented surface and a longitudinal direction oriented transversely to the path is arranged as a support part for a step on the path.
- the board leans on steel spikes that are knocked into the ground in front of the board.
- underground material - earth, gravel, stones - is poured in to form an approximately horizontal step surface.
- a round wood is used instead of a board.
- the writings EP 753645 B1 , DE 9316169 U1 , EP 3461966 A1 and GB 2410038 A show step elements, which are anchored less as permanent steps in the landscape, but rather as a temporary working platform. They each have a horizontal standing surface, from the edges of which pluggable areas (walls or rods) protrude vertically downwards, which are intended to be stuck somewhat into the subsurface. Probably because of the reason Due to its bulkiness and high weight, the construction method has not established itself for permanent arrangement on hiking trails.
- Steps are formed by placing concrete profiles with an L-shaped cross-section on slopes in such a way that the larger profile surface is horizontal and the smaller profile surface on the valley side of the larger profile surface protrudes vertically downwards from it.
- spikes are hammered into the ground through openings in the free end area of the larger profile area.
- the openings and thus the upper ends of the skewers are covered by the concrete profile lying next on top. Due to the weight of the step elements, the construction can only be used in places where construction machinery can be approached.
- the DE 4131349 A1 shows a to US 3343316 A strongly related construction with the same disadvantages.
- the FR 1462370 A shows a step element for temporary use.
- Two triangular frame elements form the side elements of a step element.
- the side elements are connected by a horizontal, corrugated tread.
- the step element formed in this way is held on the slope by spikes or by hooking onto an upper step element.
- the construction is too filigree for permanent use and too difficult to adapt to different slopes.
- the GB 2410038 A and the EP 753645 B1 show stair sections consisting of several steps, each of which is formed by a sheet metal surface that is bent to a zigzag surface by alternating 90 ° bends and placed on a slope. It is anchored to the slope by spikes that run through the sheet metal surface into the slope material.
- the construction method cannot be adapted to different slopes.
- the EP 2657403 B1 shows a support part for a step of a walkway, the support part being a sheet metal part and similar to that The wooden board mentioned above forms the vertical surface of the step.
- the sheet metal part is anchored to the ground by spikes that are driven into the ground.
- the skewers are either rigidly connected to the sheet metal part or are each guided through a tube welded to the sheet metal part.
- the construction is very robust and can be used flexibly and promotes the mutually stabilizing connection of the support part with a handrail upright. Disadvantages are a high manufacturing cost and possibly the upwardly open tubes for the implementation of the skewers.
- the DE 103 03 640 A1 describes several construction methods of metal partition walls as a replacement for precast concrete parts or natural stones for use on non-built-up subsoil.
- the possible use of the construction as a support for steps in or on the walking surface of a sidewalk is not considered or mentioned.
- the partition has the shape of a flat U-profile, which is arranged in use with an underlying flank surface, anchoring to the ground by spikes or the like, which are inserted into the ground through bridges in the lower flank surface .
- the JP S5973436 U shows a support element for that edge of a stair step, which rests between the vertical front surface of the step and the tread surface adjoining it at the top.
- the support element comprises an angle profile which runs along the said edge, with one angle leg resting against the vertical surface of the step and the second, horizontally aligned angle leg extending the tread surface towards the front.
- the angle profile is held by two spikes stuck vertically in the ground, which protrude into the angle between the two angle legs with longitudinal areas protruding from the ground and lie against both angle legs.
- the top of the horizontally aligned angle leg has a corrugated, and therefore non-slip surface.
- the construction is very simple, but the support is both forward and downward low and the many protruding edges pose a risk of injury.
- the EP 2319294 A1 and the GB 215529 A show elongated metallic elements which serve to delimit two essentially equally high surface areas outdoors, typically in the garden, for example between a lawn or a bed on the one hand and a gravel walkway on the other.
- the object on which the invention is based is to provide a support module for the vertical area of a step in or on the walking surface of a walkway in the outside area, the support module essentially consisting of sheet metal.
- the support module essentially consisting of sheet metal.
- the known features are based on the assumption that the support module consists of a support part made of sheet metal and of spikes, the spikes each penetrating a region of the support part and being inserted into the ground.
- the support part as a gutter profile made of sheet metal, in which a profile groove is delimited by a central base surface and two lateral flank surfaces, with an edging surface curved towards the profile groove adjoining the respective free longitudinal side of both flank surfaces, and one of the two flank surfaces having openings for the skewers.
- the support part is used as a step in the sidewalk - i.e. so that the walking surface connects above and below the support part -, the second flank surface is provided on its outside with an anti-slip surface.
- the support part is used as a support step on the side of the valley on the walking surface of a sidewalk crossing a slope - that is, so that the walking surface is only connected above the support part, no surface needs to be provided with an anti-slip surface.
- the easily recognizable basic design of a support part 1 of a support module according to the invention is a channel profile - that is, a type of C-profile. In the installed state, it is arranged with the base surface 2 standing at least approximately vertically.
- flank surface 3, 5 At that longitudinal edge of the flank surfaces 3, 5 which lies opposite the base surface 2, the flank surface 3, 5 is followed by a surface, which is further referred to as the border surface 7, and from the respective flank surface 3, 5 in the direction of the base surface 2 and flank surfaces 3, 5 included Profile groove is curved.
- the upper enclosure surface 7 projects downwards away from that of the flank surface 5, and the lower enclosure surface 7 projects upwards away from the flank surface 3.
- the border surfaces 7 increase the strength of the support part 1 against various bending deformations in a very economical manner.
- the base surface 2 forms the vertical surface of a step in or on the walking surface of a walkway in the open air.
- the outer side of the base surface 2 is the visible side of the step.
- the lower, first flank surface 3 rests on the ground.
- a skewer 9 runs through at least two of their openings 4. The skewers 9 were knocked into the ground before the support part 1 was attached, and then the support part 1 was pushed onto the freely protruding ends from above.
- a galvanized round steel, for example with a diameter of 15 mm, is typically used as a skewer. The skewers are driven into the ground just far enough - or cut off at the top - that their uppermost longitudinal area protrudes into the height area of the upper enclosure surface 7, so that its inside can rest against the skewers 9.
- Substrate material 10 (stones, gravel, soil) is poured onto the back of the support part 1 - i.e. in the channel formed by the base surface 2 and flank surfaces 3, 5 - so that a step surface is formed which is essentially flush with the second flank surface 5.
- the support part 8 of Fig. 3 is opposite the support part 2 of Fig. 1 and Fig. 2 a little further developed.
- the base surface 11 is bent in a stretched S-shape so that it has an overhanging area 12 on its outside when installed. A so-called stepped nose is thus formed. Compared to a flat base surface, a slightly longer step surface is achieved on the step and the visual appearance is greatly improved.
- a side plate 14 is attached to the support part 8.
- This in Fig. 5 Side plate 14, sketched in perspective by itself, is useful when the support part 1 is not inserted into a depression in a slope surface, but is arranged raised above the slope surface.
- the side plate 14 then prevents the substrate material, which is piled up on the rear side of the support part 8 for the purpose of forming a step surface, from trickling away to the side or being washed away.
- the main surface 15 of the side plate 14 extends normal to the base surface 11 of the support part 8 beyond the rear of the support part 8 to the rear, that is, from the support part 8 to the mountain side of the slope.
- sheet metal tongues 16, 17 protrude from the main surface 15 of the side plate 14 into the profile groove on the support part 8 delimited by the flank surfaces 5, 13 and the base surface 11 and lie there against the flank surfaces 5, 13 under elastic pretension.
- the lower sheet metal tongue 17 is additionally hooked with a curved end region on an opening 4 in the first (lower) flank surface 13. This connection between the support part 8 and the side plate 14 can be easily established at the place of use, even without auxiliary tools, if necessary.
- the support part 1, 8 designed according to the invention can be combined very well with a water channel 18 as an optional additional part - as in FIG Fig. 7 and Fig. 8 shown.
- the water channel 18 runs along the support part 8 in the step surface located above the support part 8. It serves to divert water that reaches the step to the side.
- the water channel 18 shown is a trough profile with a base surface 19 and two flank surfaces 20.
- the height of the water channel 18 increases steadily over its length, that is, the base surface 19 is assumed to run horizontally opposite the upper end face of the flank surfaces 20 inclined by several degrees of angle, as is convenient for drainage channels.
- flank surface 20 of the water channel 18 lies flat with its upper inner area on the inside of the edging surface 7 of the support part 8.
- the upper end face of said flank surface 20 can rest against the second (upper) flank surface 5 of the support part.
- the skewer 9 rests on the outside of the flank surface 20.
- the water channel 18 rests on the substrate 10 with the underside of its base surface 19. As in Fig. 8 As shown, the water channel 18 can protrude laterally beyond the support part 8 and thus direct water away from the immediate vicinity of the support part 8.
- a support part 21 is shown, on which a water channel 22 is formed in a monolithic manner.
- the edging surface 23 is at the same time the flank surface of the water channel 22, the water channel 22 extending on the rear side of the support part 21 and, in addition to the first flank surface, also having a base surface 24 and a second flank surface 25.
- This construction of a support part 21 can also be produced by roll forming and punching a sheet metal strip.
- Fig. 10 and Fig. 11 deal with a support module or support part 26 according to the invention for use as a valley-side Lateral support of a sidewalk, which - with or without a slope - crosses a slope.
- the support part 26 is in turn a channel profile, that is, a type of C-profile. In the installed state, it is arranged with the base surface 2 standing at least approximately vertically.
- the first flank surface 3, which is at the bottom in the installation situation, is pierced by openings 4. Such an opening 4 should be present at least at each longitudinal end. However, a grid of mutually spaced openings 4 can also extend over the entire length of the first flank surface 3.
- the second flank surface 27, which is at the top in the installation situation, is, unlike the previously discussed support parts 1, 8, 21, not provided with a slip-resistant surface for economic reasons, since it does not have to serve as a step surface for people on foot.
- flank surfaces 3, 27 which is opposite the base surface 2 is followed by an edging surface 7, which is curved from the respective flank surface 3, 27 in the direction of the profile groove enclosed by the base surface 2 and flank surfaces 3, 27.
- the border surfaces 7 increase the strength of the support part 1 against various bending deformations in a very economical manner.
- the use of the support parts 26 on sidewalks means that they have to be carried to the place of use by people - often over several hundred meters. For this reason, a support part 26 should not weigh more than a maximum of approximately 20 kg, preferably not more than 15 kg.
- the C-profile construction proposed according to the invention makes it possible, for example, to design a support part 26 made of sheet steel in such a way that it weighs just under 15 kg at 2.8 m in length and 20 cm in height and yet is sufficiently robust against all expected operational loads .
- a rectangular hollow profile made of sheet steel with the same external dimensions and comparable robustness would be significantly heavier.
- the mutually facing end faces of the two support parts can simply be connected by screws and associated nuts, the screws extending through the screw through holes 29 in alignment with one another in the two mutually adjacent tabs 28 of the two support parts 26.
- the screw diameter smaller than the diameter of the screw through-openings 29 and by not tightening the screw connections, it is possible to arrange successive support parts 26 with somewhat different longitudinal directions so that the lateral support can follow curvatures.
- Fig. 11 serves to describe both the usual installation situation and a special installation situation of a support part 26 when this is used as a support part of a step on the side of a sidewalk.
- a support part 26, as described above on the support parts 1, 8, 21, is simply held by spikes 9 which are stuck in the substrate 10 and protrude upwards through openings 4 in the first (lower) flank surface 3 and rest on the inside of the edging surface 7 adjoining the flank surface 3.
- a skewer 9 which, as mentioned above, protrudes through an opening 4 of the support part 26, protrudes below the support part 26 also through an opening 32 of a part called "transverse anchor” 33, which is an elongated part extending below the walking surface 34 from extends the valley side of the path to the mountain side of the path.
- the transverse anchor 33 is held against slipping towards the valley side of the walkway 31 by one or more additional spikes 35.
- the further spikes 35 extend through vertically aligned further through bridges in the transverse anchor 33 into the subsurface material 10.
- the transverse anchors 33 and the further spikes 35 are covered by subsurface material.
- that spit 9, which is in direct contact with the support part 26, is held extremely well against movement towards the valley side of the walkway 31.
- the transverse anchor 33 can have a longitudinal area 36, which protrudes under the support part 26 on the side facing away from the sidewalk 31 and has an opening 37 through which a post for a railing or a handrail can be passed into the underground material 10 if necessary is. This post is then also held well against sideways movement towards the valley side by the transverse anchor 33.
- the transverse anchor 33 does not need to be designed as a single monolithic part. It can also be constructed from several individual parts that can be optionally connected to one another, so that it can be adapted in a modular manner to various requirements.

Description
The invention relates to a support module for the vertical area of a step in or on the walking surface of a sidewalk on a non-built-up surface.
According to a very common construction method for steps on inclined sections of hiking or walking paths, a wooden board with a vertically oriented surface and a longitudinal direction oriented transversely to the path is arranged as a support part for a step on the path. On the valley side, the board leans on steel spikes that are knocked into the ground in front of the board. On the mountain side of the board, underground material - earth, gravel, stones - is poured in to form an approximately horizontal step surface. Often a round wood is used instead of a board. The construction with a wooden board or round wood lying on the inclined subsurface, which is supported on the valley side by spikes which are knocked into the subsoil and with their protruding longitudinal area lie laterally on the valley side of the wood, is known not only used for steps of sidewalks, but also as a side support of sidewalks on the valley side which cross a slope in sloping terrain. The simple and inexpensive construction of this support module made of wood and steel spikes has the disadvantages of low durability, the risk of slipping on wet wood and the risk of injury on the metal spikes. Often the metal skewers stick out of the ground for years after the wood has already rubbed away.

To achieve the object, the known features are based on the assumption that the support module consists of a support part made of sheet metal and of spikes, the spikes each penetrating a region of the support part and being inserted into the ground.
As a further development, it is proposed to design the support part as a gutter profile made of sheet metal, in which a profile groove is delimited by a central base surface and two lateral flank surfaces, with an edging surface curved towards the profile groove adjoining the respective free longitudinal side of both flank surfaces, and one of the two flank surfaces having openings for the skewers.
If the support part is used as a step in the sidewalk - i.e. so that the walking surface connects above and below the support part -, the second flank surface is provided on its outside with an anti-slip surface.
If, on the other hand, the support part is used as a support step on the side of the valley on the walking surface of a sidewalk crossing a slope - that is, so that the walking surface is only connected above the support part, no surface needs to be provided with an anti-slip surface.

The
At that longitudinal edge of the flank surfaces 3, 5 which lies opposite the

Based on
The
Substrate material 10 (stones, gravel, soil) is poured onto the back of the support part 1 - i.e. in the channel formed by the
The

The
The
The
An der Außenseite der Flankenfläche 20 liegt der Spieß 9 an.One of the two

The
The
The longitudinal edge of the flank surfaces 3, 27 which is opposite the
The use of the
Even if a
In the typical installation situation, a

In the in

Optionally - as shown - the
Incidentally, the
