Abstract
389,110. Garden edging ; ground anchors. THORNHILL, G. A., 98, Lonsdale Avenue, Wembley, Middlesex, TAYLOR, J. P. and STIGWOOD, A. E., 129, London Wall, London. Aug. 4, 1931, No. 22080. [Classes 6 (ii) and 45.] Edging strips of wood &c. having recesses in their side faces are secured edgewise on the ground by stakes detachably engaging the recesses, the stakes each comprising two prongs for insertion at one end in the ground, and connected at the other end by a U-shaped part constituting a clip for receiving the edging strips. The strips 11 may be made to represent a row of tiles, and may be treated with preservative and paint or enamel. The stakes are of sheet metal, and of M-shape. They have tapered and ribbed prongs 16, 17 bent outwardly at their lower ends and connected together by the U-shaped part 19 constituting the spring clip for receiving the strip 11, or the ends of two adjacent strips. The bottom of the clip may be shaped to correspond with the shape of the strip, and the clip may be opened by pressing the prongs 16, 17 towards one another. Inwardly bent beads or flanges 20 on the clip engage grooves 15 near the upper edges of the strips 11.
