[Class 43.] A tag end a for a tubular lace A is formed by inserting into the end of the lace a small tube B, of metal or other material, provided with a longitudinal slit b, the material of the lace being then pressed into the slit b, and the tube compressed within the material which is gripped by the edges of the slit. Projections may be formed on the tube to give a better grip. The lace may be wound or otherwise finished before or after insertion of the tube. According to the Provisional Specification recesses on the tube may also be provided to give a better grip.
